Commitment to Racial Equality

We are committed and dedicated to change in our community. We believe that people are to be treated with dignity and respect.  We know that we can build a better community by standing in solidarity with our Black and Brown students and colleagues. There is more work to be done to ensure there are safe spaces in our community.

As a department, we continue to work towards creating safe spaces when our students and colleagues face racial discrimination. Their voices need to be heard. We also hold ourselves accountable if we miss the mark in our efforts as we continue to grow in our individual and collective learning on how to support our campus community.

Our goal is continue to build relationships with campus partners to foster programs that will contribute to a diverse community. We are stronger together. We are better when we connect and understand each other. When our campus feels supported, we know that are moving in the right direction.
